The YMA Scholar Intern Program

The YMA Scholarship / Grant Committee has established a summer internship program for selected YMA scholars - The YMA Intern Program. This program has as its goal - to bring talented above average student scholars into the industry, to have them experience a real industry environment and to allow them to establish a work presence that will lead to career opportunities upon their graduation.

This program is an extension of the successful YMA Scholarship / Grant program. The program is directed toward YMA scholars that have expressed an interest to intern with participating YMA companies as expressed on their Scholarship Interest form.

The program considers student scholar candidates that are juniors and will be entering their senior year. The program is designed to dovetail with the current YMA Scholars program in offering summer work experience between a scholar's junior and senior school year. To be considered for this internship program, the Student Scholar must a first selected by the YMA Scholarship / Grant committee for a YMA Scholarship/Grant.

Once a YMA Scholar has been selected and they have expressed an interest to serve as an intern, their information will be submitted to an interested YMA supporting company for consideration. If a YMA Scholar is selected to work as an intern, the scholar will be subject to the rules and consideration of the participating YMA supportive company. YMA Scholar interns are to be compensated in accordance to the company's standard compensation policy for summer interns. Our program intends for YMA Scholars to be compensated.

YMA Intern candidates would have to fulfill the requirements normally necessary to become an intern at a YMA supporting company. Our hope is that the talent and interest level represented by a YMA Scholar would exceed expectations.

Several questions regarding internships have to be added the present YMA scholars applications form - interest, availability, timing and location. Selected YMA Scholars expressing an interest in the internship program, would be considered first.
